Aestech patented glazing platform

The glass unit becomes part of the load path.

Conventional insulated glass units transfer limited load between lites. Aestech reinforces the sealing contour with an integrated pultruded GRP profile so multiple layers can work together as a stiffer assembly. The result opens connection options that can reduce visible metal without removing the need for engineering, support, movement, drainage, testing, or code review.

A reinforced insulating-glass assembly

The perimeter is engineered so the inner lites contribute to stiffness rather than leaving the outer lite to work alone. Connection elements can engage the integrated GRP zone instead of relying only on deep conventional mullions or exposed point fittings.

  • Multiple lites participate in the structural response
  • Integrated connection zones support new attachment geometries
  • A flatter interior and exterior surface becomes possible

Performance is a system, not a slogan

Glass makeup, edge construction, supports, seals, adjacent structure, movement, thermal bridges, acoustic criteria, drainage, coatings, fabrication, installation, and commissioning determine the real outcome.

  • Structural loads and deflection
  • Thermal, acoustic and optical criteria
  • Seismic movement and perimeter interfaces
  • Mockups, tests and field quality control
03

Designed for architectural freedom

The platform can support flat, serrated, inclined, radial and three-dimensional concepts. We begin with the geometry, then develop a compliant path with the owner’s architect, engineers, facade consultant, Aestech technical team and qualified fabricators.

  • Frameless facades
  • Large-format storefronts
  • Roofs, domes and canopies
  • Entrances, lobbies and interiors
